[edit] Glenorchy Air Safety Policy.
[edit] Safety and Quality
Glenorchy Air has long recognised the importance of developing Safety and Quality Systems. We employ on an independent Safety and Quality Assurance organization to oversee and develop our Safety and Quality Assurance programmes.
[edit] Safety Record
We have a 100% safety record. No-one flying with us since we started our business 18 years ago has been hurt or injured.
[edit] Passenger Safety
Our brand new Aeroplanes have three point safety belts for all our passengers. As we have to carry life jackets on our aeroplanes all our passengers wear them on our over water flights. These are the modern self inflation type and passengers soon forget they are wearing them.
[edit] Awards
Glenorchy Air has been awarded the coveted Qualmark endorsement for it's business.
[edit] Equipment
Glenorchy Air is the only Queenstown based aeroplane operator to have purchased brand new aeroplanes for scenic flight operations since the 1970's We purchased a brand new GA 8 Airvan in 2003 (see photo below)and also operate a new 2004 year Cessna 172SP. Last year we re-engined our older Cherokee Six aeroplane with the latest technology Textron Lycoming engine. This year we re-engined our GA 8 Airvan with the latest technology engine as well. "Preventive Maintenance" is the mainstay of our maintenance philosophy and practice.
[edit] Training
All our pilots undergo regular training to ensure they maintain a high level of competence. All pilots and most other staff hold current First Aid Certificates.
[edit] Industry Associations
