The Night Bus bus

The bus is available to leave from outside O’Connells Pavilion, Camp Street, Queenstown. Every hour on the hour between 12.00 and 5.00am, on the early mornings following Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Leaves for Frankton, Lake Hayes and Arrowtown at:

12.00pm 2.00am 4.00am

Leaves for Frankton, Kelvin Heights:

1.00am 3.00am


For other options just talk to the driver at the time.

    Night Bus

    The Night Bus

    Purpose

    The purpose of the bus service is to provide low cost transportation at a time when it is urgently needed to get people off the streets following the pub closing times and for shift workers.

    Routes

    The bus service will runs an alternating service between Queenstown and Arrowtown returning via Arthurs Point and between Queenstown and Kelvin Heights.

    The routes specifically are:

    Route one:

    Queenstown central - Frankton Bus Shelter - Lake Hayes estate - Arrowtown central via Lake Hayes - Arthurs Point - Central Queenstown.

    Route two:

    Queenstown central - Frankton Bus Shelter - Remarkables Park subdivision - Kelvin Heights - Return.

    For the purposes of economy the service will only depart if there is at least one passenger for the service for departure from Central Queenstown, and it will only go so far on the route as there are passengers to be dropped off or picked up.

    Times

    The start time is 11.45 at the Frankton Bus Shelter

    The service will depart Queenstown each hour on the hour between the hours of 12 midnight and 4am. Service may extend till 5am if busy.

    There will be no designated times except for the start and finish at Frankton and leaving from Queenstown on the hour.

    The finish time is 4.15 at the Frankton Bus shelter or 5.15 at the Frankton Bus shelter if busy.

    Drop offs

    Drop off will be whereever along the route that it is safe to do so. Passengers will say where they wish to disembark and be given a ticket for that zone to show upon disembarking.

    Pickups

    Apart from Central Queenstown there will be no designated pickup points. Instead, customers will text where and when they wish to be picked up from and receive an acknowledgment.
